It’s always good to see new SimuCube IONI based Direct Drive FFB systems coming to market. Competition is a good thing for us Sim Racers. As it tends to keep the prices of these systems edging ever lower. Which will make them more accessible to a larger segment of our community. But it also means companies who want to grab a share of this market need to make their product stand out from the others. I think that the guys at Augury recognised this and decided to produce SimuCube IONI wheel system with custom parts that use materials no one else is using. And I have to say they have come up with a great result. The stainless steel used in the construction of their controller boxes and motor mounts certainly brings a unique look to their systems that I have not seen before. I think that most would agree that these parts look very good indeed. And it’s not just the material used, it’s also the custom designing they have implemented in their cases and mounts. From the artistic cooling vents, to the clever mounting slots you can tell that a lot of thought went into their product. But this beauty is not only skin deep. From the look inside segment of this review you can see that only quality parts are used with a build quality among the best I have seen to date. The kit I got is the one with the 18nm Mige Servo Motor. But I also got a 30Nm Mige to try as I have not had the opportunity to do this up till now. The 18Nm
motor has all the power that most any Sim Racer will require. As you can see from the driving segment of the review I had my hands full when driving the Renault Formula 3.5 car. I really had fun using this motor and the fact that it is less expensive than the 20Nm or 30Nm motors keep the price of this kit in 900 Euro or 1000.00 range. Considering the quality of
the materials and construction of this kit I think this one deserves a long hard look if you are considering a new Direct Drive wheel system.
