When you first take this shifter out of the box you know straight away that you have something very special in your hands. The same feeling I got when I took the Pro Sim H Pattern shifter out of it’s box. This SimWorx Sequential just radiates with quality and craftsmanship. From its powder coated plate steel gear box and body, to the beautiful CNC milled billet aluminum Albins styled lever and rod assembly. And it doesn’t stop there. Even the gearbox actuator assembly is milled from 6061 aluminum billet. The actuator performed with no issues and gives the driver a real sensation of actually making
a shift. The electronics are built to the same level as the rest of this unit. Using high quality XSS-5GL13 mechanical switches rated at over one million actuation during their life cycle. And using a heavy duty XLR connector assembly to connect the reverse switches braided loom covered wires to the gear box is just another example of the robust build that goes into these shifters. When I was running this shifter in the iRacing Holden V8 Super car. It was easy to get lost in the moment and feel like I was closer than ever to driving the real thing. But it didn’t stop there, I also ran the shifter in some rally cars and felt that it fit in quite nicely with that driving style. I just need to fabricate a plate to hold my hand brake in the correct position. Now obviously the SimWorx shifter is not something that most sim racers will be looking to buy for their rigs. As this is a purpose built unit aimed squarely at the Pro side of the race car simulation market. And they must be doing quite well in that segment because they sell out of this unit on a regular basis.
Along with some of the other Pro Series simulation hardware that SimWorx manufactures. The only way to guarantee you can get one is to get in on a
pre-order for the next batch. Still it’s nice to know if you have the means, you can own one of these special sequential shifters. And I think anyone
would be quite proud to have it mounted to their racing cockpit. That is of course if you have the means to get one. At 977.00 shipped to the US, it going to be very hard for most of us to justify this to our significant others.
