Accuforce V2 DD Wheel Review

The guys at SimXperience have made noticeable improvements to their Accuforce system since the last time I had one in the SRG. When I had the v1 DD wheel kit I could never seem to get it to feel like I wanted. No matter
how much time I spent in the Simcommander control panel, and I did put a lot hours into experimenting with the FFB, in both Game and Foundation modes, I just couldn’t get it dialed in. Now, all that has changed. I know that the FW has been constantly improved as this DD platform has matured, and it shows. I was able to get a FFB feel that I was happy with, in all three games I was testing in. One required Game FFB and another felt better with Foundation FFB. I was even able to get a satisfactory setup by just tweaking the main device settings, saving to the controller, and then shutting Simcommander down. Then using the FFB settings, available in a game, to tune in a good feel. Which brings me to a big plus with the Accuforce system. The ability to run it in three different modes and still get a quite usable and comfortable result. I also think this system has enough torque to satisfy most Sim Racers out there today. With only a small ding for lacking the FFB dynamic range that some of the other
DD systems out there have. But of course, there is a price difference to consider also. The build quality of the new
motor assembly is top notch. With quality materials and a nice powder coat finish. The new one piece aluminum
hub is a thing of beauty. Of course not everything was perfect. I would like to see a different way to mount the
motor assembly. I think you could get a rock steady mounting result if the holes used to mount the motor had
more seperation toward the front and rear of the bottom plate. Or even better, a way to front mount the motor
to the type of mounting plates that support it. I would love to be able to mount the motor to the 15mm plate
that is on my P1 rig. Other than that, I really don’t have any other issues with v2 of the Accuforce DD wheel
system. And of course the biggest news has been the ongoing “Summer Sale” that SimXperience has been
running for the past few months. Using the promo code “SUMMER18” you can get the “Your Way” kit for 750.00 plus shipping, which for me would be around 39.00. I just don’t know how you can beat that if you are in the market for a DD FFB wheel system.
